New Zealand should scrap its friendly cricket tour of Sri Lanka.
Indeed, Tamil protesters are now calling for a worldwide boycott of Sri Lankan sports and products until alleged human rights abuses end.
A small group of Tamil protesters yesterday held a subdued vigil outside the Sutton Place Hotel, where New Zealand maintained a consulate facility, to protest the Blackcaps elite cricket team playing Sri Lanka’s team.
Protesters say there should be an international boycott of Sri Lanka, until at least human-rights organizations and non-governmental organizations can enter camps to ensure those displaced during the civil war are well and sent home.

The Sri Lankan Government has long tried to portray the Sri Lankan civil war as a Government campaign against terrorism but the truth is that the Sri Lankan Government has carefully engineered the Genocide of Tamils on the island.

Reuters : S.Lanka bars tea promotion board from talking to media
COLOMBO (Reuters) – Sri Lanka’s Tea Board, responsible for promoting the nation’s trademark export worldwide, on Thursday said the government had barred its officials from speaking to the media.
The Tea Board seems among the least likely institutions to fall under a government campaign to control the free flow of information, which increased at the Defence Ministry’s direction during the final years of a 25-year civil war that ended in May.
